 Josh Kaplan is a freshman at Emory University on a full ride Woodruff Scholarship. Josh created GOALS in 2015 with the mission of leveraging inclusion through sports. He currently serves on the Special Olympics Arizona Youth Activation Committee and as an ambassador for Youth Service America and Special Olympics International. Most notably, Josh was designated a Bryan Cameron Impact Scholar, a Hasbro Community Action Hero, and an AXA Achievement Scholar.


Aside from his passion for soccer, Josh holds a patent for a Braille smartphone keyboard (brailleboard.com) and is a competitive whistler.

Riley Novak is a fourteen year-old freshman at Arizona School for the Arts. She has been playing soccer for 8 years, and she still plays on a recreational soccer team. Riley is also very involved in the performing arts. She plays the piano and French horn, and sings in the Chamber Singers choir at ASA. Outside of school, she participates in community theatre. Riley enjoys advocating for arts funding and arts in education, and loves to read! Riley cannot wait to take on this new leadership role at GOALS.

 Claire Novak is a ninth grader who attends Arizona School for the Arts in Phoenix, Arizona. She feels very passionately about arts education, and she absolutely loves performing in musical theater, singing in choir, and playing the alto saxophone, piano, and flute. She has played recreational soccer for eight years and loves it. Claire is honored to be a part of the GOALS program because she believes that everyone should have the opportunity to experience the joy of soccer.

Natalia de la Vina is a senior at Chaparral High School in Scottsdale, Arizona, and has volunteered with GOALS since its first season in 2015. An active member of her school community, Natalia serves as the President of the GOALS Club, Vice President of the Courtney's Place Volunteering Club, and Activities Director of the KEEN Club. Outside of school, Natalia is also involved in Special Olympics Arizona as a member of the Youth Activation Committee.


In her spare time, Natalia enjoys practicing yoga, eating her grandmother's Bolivian food, and going snorkeling.
